Patrick Mahomes details new steakhouse endeavor with Travis Kelce: ‘We have a love for bringing people together’
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is opening a steakhouse with teammate Travis Kelce, and they have one goal in mind. The star quarterback recently spoke to Fox 4 Kansas City and detailed what fans and locals can expect from the 1587 Prime.

“Me and Travis have been working on that for a while. We’re always together. We’re always at these restaurants, and we have a love for bringing people together,” Mahomes said in the video, per Delish. “We’re going to do whatever we can to continue to bring people together and what better place than Kansas City.”

The new restaurant is set to open in 2025 and it’s not expected to be too high in price. “We don’t want to make it too upscale, too high-priced that not everybody can go.,” Mahomes added. “So we’re going to make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home, and that everybody can be there and really enjoy it.”

As for what’s going to be on the menu, Mahomes revealed that there will be a cheeseburger named after his head coach Andy Reid. “That’ll for sure be on there,” he said. “Hopefully we can win some games at Arrowhead Stadium and then we get to go over and have a few drinks and food with it.”

Patrick Mahomes making big Business moves

Mahomes has already put together a Hall of Fame NFL career, but he’s looking to make big waves off the field. He and Kelce already have ownership in the franchises of Whataburger, Casa Azul, and Chicken N Pickle. Additionally, the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback is part-owner of the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Kansas City Current with his wife Brittany Mahomes.

“It’s been remarkable to be in the stadium and see the fans. I feel like I’m at Arrowhead, that’s the type of vibe I’m getting here. It’s going to be a historic day and the start of something great,” Mahomes said on SportsCenter.

“I just want to give back in the best way possible and to be making history in women’s sports, I have my own daughter, to give them the platform that they deserve. I mean, I’ve seen the type of talent they showcase every single game and we wanted to build a stadium that matched that talent. And to have it here in Kansas City as the first women’s-specific stadium, and it’s just the start of something that will kinda take off throughout the rest of the world.”
