As feared, Gianluca Scamacca will have to skip a few games due to a thigh injury. The Atalanta marksman has been diagnosed with a first-degree lesion of the semimembranosus muscle of the right thigh. He’ll be out for three to four weeks. Considering the schedule, he’ll most likely return after the next international break, Sky informs.

The center-forward won’t be available for the crucial fixtures against Juventus and Lazio, plus the upcoming continental ones versus Rakow and Sporting CP. Cagliari and Verona are next on the schedule for La Dea.

Gian Piero Gasperini commented on Scamacca in a presser.

“We’ll miss him because he’s an important player, but we have others. Unfortunately, it happened Sunday right after he subbed in. We didn’t notice it, and it severely affected him. We’re having problems in every match. Though, we don’t need to come up we anything new. We have options, and I have to make the right choices with the five changes. The team has a precise identity. It’s the same as in the past besides the attack.”

“We thought we could work on something new up front, but it won’t be possible without him and El Bilal Touré. In any case, his injury is less severe. The problem is that, even if you are out for 15 days, you end up missing 5 matches. Maybe I’ll try Juan Musso or Marco Carnesecchi after seeing Ivan Provedel.”
