AC Milan are keeping a close eye on Roberto De Zerbi’s situation at Brighton as he could be getting closer and closer to a departure from the Premier League side.

As reported by Milan News, the landscape is changing for De Zerbi at Brighton compared to earlier in the season. After a great first year and a strong start to this season, the Italian coach was being linked with jobs such as Liverpool and Barcelona.

The Seagulls have gotten worse and worse as the season has progressed, though, which means it could suit all parties if he were to depart in the summer. The main issue is that he has a €13m release clause that would need to be negotiated.

De Zerbi is a product of the Milan youth system and holds the club very dear in his heart, having said in the recent past: “It’s not a normal club for me, I grew up with the Rossoneri. I will be grateful to Milan for my whole life.”

Whilst De Zerbi is an option, a host of other coaches like Thiago Motta, Paulo Fonseca, Sergio Conceicao and more have also been linked and Milan do not look close to honing in on a favoured candidate.
